Where Clay Becomes Art

At Claymodelling, we offer classes dedicated to developing technique, artistic understanding, and creative confidence for students at every level. We believe art should be part of everyone's life: a refuge, a form of thinking, and a way to express emotion through matter.

Founded in 2018 by Bernard Ionescu, Claymodelling studio combines classical training with contemporary approaches. Whether you're a visual artist from another discipline or working in 3D environments with ZBrush or Mudbox, our courses will enrich your practice.

What Our Students Say

"What sets Bernard's classes apart is the emphasis on composition and critical thinking. You're constantly asking: why this gesture, why this structure, why this tension? It's not just sculpture, it's learning to see. The art historical references completely changed how I understand form in space."
David R. Architect
"What impressed me most was how seriously the program is structured. Clear progression, disciplined training, and a deep understanding of form."
Isabelle C. Account Manager
"As a 3D modeler, I thought I understood anatomy. I did not. Studying anatomy in clay gave me a structural understanding that immediately improved my character creation. Bernard connects classical sculpture to contemporary practice in a way that makes everything clear. My digital work feels more alive now."
Olivier L. 3D Character Modeler
"The emphasis on composition completely changed my approach. It was refreshing to experience Bernard's pedagogy, rigorous, structured, and deeply thoughtful. I found myself integrating aspects of his method into my own university courses. He pushes you to question every decision and to understand the forces within a sculpture. It is demanding, but truly rewarding."
Flavie T. University Lecturer
"This is not a hobby class. It's a real curriculum. For the first time, I experienced a structured path similar to a European art academy: foundations first, then complexity. No shortcuts, no quick formulas. It's like an investment in how I think, not just what I make."
Arnaud T. Designer
"Bernard teaches more than sculpture. He teaches observation, proportion, rhythm, and meaning. The historical context gives depth to every exercise, from Greek references to Renaissance composition. I left each session seeing the world differently."
